Sixteen designers

1. Le Paravent De l'Autre by Philippe Starck. It acts as a room divider and at the same time, can display pictures/works on the panel. It looks very simple yet at the same time, it give out the very classy look, and it is easy to manage as it is foldable so it can be move easily, at anytime. It is made up of three wooden panels with pearwood finish. Clear glass windows/picture-frames. Polished cast aluminium legs.

2. Soft Box Series by Tom Dixon. It is an unusual luminous object that can work in any environment. It's reflective inner lining allows a standard light bulb to give flat, even light akin to an open window. The first look of this Soft box light exactly give us the feeling of being at a studio, with the feeling of the big camera shining at us. Putting it at home will give guests the impression that the owner is a very modern and elegant person. Light is the feature of this product. I like this product as it looks very beautiful to me and it is actually a very simple object using just very normal shapes like rectangle and circle.
3. Lovely Rita Bookshelf by Ron Arad. It is made in a irregular form of shape, but it definately brings out the stylish look of books. It might be difficult for users to handle as it is in irregular shape but take a further look, the up and down actually act as a book dividers.

The purpose of encouraging people to donate blood is to help those who does not have enough blood and it could save their live.

Presently, I do not have any involvement with Red cross at all. But, soon there will be! I've always wanted to donate blood, but i'm not up to the age yet. In a few months time, i'll be 16, and i'll eligible! If one packet of blood could save one live, why not? (:

Pre-Gameplan

Okay, from getting the theme till design brief.. This would most probably take up at least a month or so. This year we only got our design brief up at around April or May if i not wrong, can't really remember. Next year gonna be different, we've to move fast, so two months is the longest we can take to come up with design brief, specification and needs.

School's starting on next friday, so we don't count that week in. The following week will be counted as week one..
  • Week one - Getting the theme, research and find out what it is. Do a mindmap on all the possible directions that we can go into of the theme.
  • Week two to three - Continue with the research, coming up with as many problems as possible.
  • Week four - Time to narrow down on which is the most important needs, such that I'm able to zoom into the problem.
  • Week five - More or less done with the choosen need.
  • Week six to eight - Do a persona profile and moodboard to find out more about the user. Using Pies to find out what is the main needs of the problem here.
  • Week nine - Do a check to make sure that I'm heading into the correct direction. At the same time, compile all my research to come up with a open and close design brief.
  • Week ten - Design and make..

This is one of the photos i've taken when i'm at Hong Kong earlier this month. Bascially, this is one of the foodstalls that you can commonly found on the streets. Mr. Fiz, i don't know whether i need to comment on the photo not, so i shall not comment anything yet.

I'm doneeeeee with both the assignment! Is close to 3am now!
